Media reports consist of a column template and a report template that are linked together. The column template defines the report’s various columns, whilst the report template determines which options are to be preset when the report is printed.

=== Column template ===
−
A media report consists of a column template and a report template that are connected to each other. In the column template, the different columns of the report are defined and the report template defines those selections that shall be set when printing the report.

 +
A column template is registered in Media | Backoffice | Base registers | Column templates.
−
 +
Select New and enter an ID (max. 6 characters; avoid diacritics) and a name. The top row is automatically set to RUB in a new column template; RUB stands for heading. If the Show box is deselected, no headings will be displayed. However, this row must always be included in a column template.

Next, start entering columns. The content of a column can be selected from a list of terms using the list button […]. The list is organised by headings to make it easier to find the term you are looking for:

Create a column template in {{pth|System|Base registers/Med/Column templates}}. Select {{ btn|New}} and write an ID (maximum 6 characters, do not use letters with diacritics) and a {{btn|Name}}. The top row will automatically become RUB in the new column template, RUB meaning Header. The header row is mandatory in all column templates, but if you don't want to see it, uncheck the box {{kryss|Show}}.

General

Media reports consist of a column template and a report template that are linked together. The column template defines the report’s various columns, whilst the report template determines which options are to be preset when the report is printed.

Column template

A column template is registered in Media | Backoffice | Base registers | Column templates.

Invoiced -client cost is comparable with invoice to client. If a client wants statistics, this is normally the one to choose.
Invoiced – debt to agency what we may pass on to the agency in an agency settlement.
Invoiced - intermediary's calc cost what we expect to be invoiced from the media.
Invoiced - intermediary's income the revenue we retain from the amount invoiced to the client.
Ordered- client cost the client's costs for everything that has been booked.
Ordered - debt to agency the amount we may pass on to the agency in an agency settlement (provided it is invoiced).
Ordered - intermediary's incomes the revenue we retain from the work that has been ordered (provided it is invoiced).
Ordered - to the media media-related costs that have been booked.
Media invoices media invoices registered for the orders.

You can also search for terms in the Quick Search field. The Comment column describes the content of the term. The brackets (MED&PRO) indicate that the term can be used in a report that is a combined media and project accounting report.

Columns can be used to add (+), subtract (-), multiply (*) and divide (/) values. They can also be used to specify a percentage (%) of another column. In the example below, the value in column 5 (K5) has been subtracted from the value in column 4 (K4).

Terms selected in the Content column can be specified in the Selection column. In the example above, the report extracts statistics for Net invoiced media-related, Net invoiced specifically for surcharge codes 301 to 304, Discounts, Commissions, Fee and Insertion fees.

The Rounding column determines how the amounts are to be rounded. The Show tick box allows certain columns to be hidden, for example if they are only to be used to calculate the value in another column.

In Heading 1 and Heading 2, the heading is entered on one or two lines.

Selections

The different selections are:

TYP E for ether and P for print (media), A for fees, I for purchases and P for other (PRO)
KAT Cost category in the project accounting (fees, purchases, other)
TYP=A, KAT=01 selects all fees under category 01.
BPER Accounting period (e.g. BPER=2601-2612 for 2026 or BPER=2612 for dec 2026
IPER Insertion period (e.g. IPER=2601-2612 for 2026 or IPER=2612 for dec 2026)
MTYP Media type
RKOD Discount code
TKOD Surcharge code
TKOD=M Everything that is invoiced by the media
TKOD=I Everything that is not invoiced by the media
HK=J Everything on the head client of the plan (used in allocations)
HK=N Everything on other clients than head client on the plan

In both media and media+ project reports (MED & PRO), you can select multiple additional codes or ranges of additional codes by separating them with a +. Similarly, you can select multiple fee codes, purchase codes and other codes, or use categories or ranges of codes/categories. In the image below, column 3 shows the net invoiced amount for the surcharge codes: 301 to 304 and 701. Row 9 shows the invoiced insertion fees and the codes 101 to 120.

Report template

A report template is registered in Media | Backoffice | Base register | Report templates. Press the New button.

Enter the Code (max. 6 characters; avoid diacritics) and the report title in the Name field. Additional information about the report can be entered in the Comment field. The comment is displayed when reports are printed. In the Type field, select whether the report should be a pure media report (MED) or whether it should also include amounts from the project accounting (MED & PRO). Select how the report should be totalled using up to eight subtotal terms. Click the list button […] to see which subtotals are available. The subtotals are a suggestion when printing the report and can be changed.

Link the report to your column template by selecting the column template from the list. Under Sorting, the report can be sorted by the columns contained in the column template to which the report is linked.

The Selection tab contains all the fields and registers that will be available for selection when printing the report. You can enter a default value here if you wish. The default value can be changed when printing the report.

Print report

Print the report in Media | Reports Select your report and click on Print. Depending on whether it is a MED or MED & PRO report, the selection options will vary. When printing a MED & PRO report, the only options available are for the accounting period and a smaller number of subtotals. Once you have selected a specific filter, e.g. Client or Group, you can save it as a custom selection using the SAVE button. The report will then be assigned its own ID in the report list. It’s a good idea to use the comments field.

The report can be printed as list, PDF or Excel (Spreadsheet). If you select List, you can then print in various ways by right-clicking in the list. You can also move or hide columns before printing.

Correction

Select whether the report should include internal or external corrections.

Date fields in printout

It depends on what the report shows; these selections apply only to MED reports. The various date fields are:

Ins. date ordered column Used when the report shows what has been ordered. Selection by order date.
End date ordered column Used when the report shows what has been ordered. Selection by end date.
Ins. date invoiced column Used when the report shows what has been invoiced. Selection by invoice date.
Inv. date Selection by the invoice date on the client invoice
Accounting date Selection by the booking date for everything that has been invoiced (both clients and suppliers).
