Introduction

Marathon Internet is a concept that we offer to our clients in which the Marathon program, a place on a shared server, backups and support is included. This is better known as ASP (Application Service Provider). All the client needs for using the service is a client computer with Internet connection (MAC or PC).

Backup

One time every day, at 3 am (Stockholm time), all Marathon data is backed up. The backup copy is saved for 30 days on a backup server in another location.

User access

Passwords are mandatory and valid for a maximum of 90 days. Each client can also request a specific password configuration concerning number of characters, numbers and capital letters. The user account is blocked after five erroneous login attempts. All communication with the Marathon server is done via Marathon's client program and is encrypted with SSL, or SSH for some legacy functions.

Maintenance

Each installation is continuously monitored regarding CPU-load, hard drive usage, system errors and number of logged in users. Possible errors can thus be handled in advance. Planned maintenance is performed during weekends and nights, and the clients will be informed in good time ahead. Our absolute aim is that service interruptions shall be rectified within 24 hours.

Support

Support cases are sent to Kalin Setterberg primarily through Marathon's interface (HELP/Support). It is also possible to email support requests or to call +46850626600. Received requests are handled chronologically and our goal is to answer each client within 30 minutes. The support is open during normal Swedish business hours (9 am-5 pm). In order to get contracted Marathon support, the user must have gone through the relevant Marathon training.

Server environment

The servers that make Marathon Internet are placed in TDC data center DC:02.

The data center is divided in several halls and constructed for coping extreme external impact such as physical access, encroachment, vandalism, errors in power supply, changes of climate, fire, smoke, magnetism/EMP and also has a redundant internet connection, etc.
