- Link an account to a VAT class in the chart of accounts under Accounting | Backoffice | Base registers, on the General ledger tab. If an account can be used for several different VAT classes, tick the Allow change of VAT class box.
- VAT category and Allow change of VAT class are entered in the expense accounts and, in some cases, also in balance sheet accounts, such as fixed asset accounts.
- The account for project purchases must have a VAT class, regardless of whether it is an expense account or a balance sheet account.
- The account for periodical allocations must allow for a VAT class and must be posted with a VAT class upon entry.
